“I immediately had the feeling: this is a family. And with this family, I tried to find a way of becoming one body through professional and respectful work, excellent preparation, and, above all, humanity. I believe we have achieved that over these nine years. (…) We selected wonderful projects, performed them brilliantly, and, of course, made a great number of recordings as well. I believe I recorded almost 30 CDs. We received so many positive reviews, and I am truly very proud of this orchestra.”
Since 2017, Ivan Repušić has been the chief conductor of the Munich Radio Orchestra. To mark his departure from this position, he has prepared a very personal farewell concert at the Prinzregententheater on June 10, 2026 – featuring music from his native Croatia as well as numerous colleagues and friends who have shaped the past nine years. In a farewell interview with Annekatrin Hentschel for BR-Klassik, he reflects on this time and the shared artistic successes.
