“The Munich Radio Orchestra excelled as it did when it was one of the world’s busiest orchestras for studio recordings of operas and operettas. (…) Repušić disproves that Verdi’s operas before 1849 were mostly rude. On the contrary: everything sounds tight, but in no way like the rigid beating of a cement drum.”

Ralph P. Locke, The Arts Fuse (16/11/2020)

“The Munich orchestra sounds splendid from beginning to end. So does the chorus (which has a lot to do in the work). Croatian-born Ivan Repušić, the orchestra’s music director since 2017, shows himself, as in the I due Foscari recording, to be a major operatic maestro, keeping the music as forceful or tender as required and always under firm control. Voices carry without shouting or barking. Orchestral details register naturally, and tutti do not overwhelm.”
